Wing tip vortices (wake turbulence/jet wash) visible due to fog

I’m often asked about wingtip vortices. First I’ll spare you any math, so what are they? Basically when a wing produces lift it also produces drag. This type of drag is called induced drag. A by product of it are

Route of Project Seven Alpha’s flight: Guadalupe Peak

In the first historical novel of my WWII Trilogy, Project Seven Alpha. I not only wanted to put my readers in the cockpit during combat, I also wanted to show the duality of flight during war. Incredible visual sights roll

Discovery Curiosity Series: Plane Crash, credited with saving passengers during Lion Air crash

A recent article on ABC News Explore credits Broken Wing’s B-727 crash with possibly saving lives during the Lion Air crash. While flattering, I think it is still too early in the investigation to determine that. Certainly the brace position
