Another hoax like kill-a-thrill, mega-whoosh, software malfunction: this time an F-15

Time to de-bunk another viral internet hoax. Years ago I put to rest the kill-a-thrill internet phenomenon by showing it was a hoax. Next came Mega Whoosh, then Software Malfunction; finally and most laughably, the government of Iran. Next up is an F-15 crash.

When this came out I was skeptical. My son is a crew chief in the squadron this happened to (they are now flying the B-2); and I never heard about the pictures. Also the quality was really bad, pixulated etc. I next noticed the background is not Missouri (where the accident happened), it is somewhere out west; mountains on the horizon, oil wells etc. So I poked around a bit and found the below. The pictures going around the net were re-created from this video and then blurred to hide the fact it is CGI (computer generated imagery). Here is the Boeing generated CGI re-creation.
